A trio of players from the Warsaw Community High School girls soccer team were honored recently by the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association.
Chosen as first-team, All-District 2 performers were WCHS senior forward Meredith Hollar and junior goalkeeper Abby Schue. Tabbed for second-team honors were senior forward Gabby Monroy.
The trio helped coach Dan Miller’s squad post a 13-5-2 mark this fall. Warsaw won its own Class 2-A sectional championship before losing 3-1 to No. 4 South Bend St. Joseph in the Goshen Regional final. St. Joseph went on to finish as state runner-up.
Hollar, despite missing her entire junior season and part of her senior campaign due to knee injuries, finished as the school’s all-time leader in goals scored with 67.
Other area players named to the District 2 first-team were Goshen senior Gaby Romo, Concord senior Jackie Greenawalt, NorthWood junior Carlie Salinas and Northridge juniors Kara Kershner and Mikaela Zook. Second-team picks included Northridge senior Sarah Smith and Concord senior Sarah Emerson.
